Weaving a V-Cowl

A V-Cowl, sometimes called a Hero Cowl is woven into a round garment by taking the beginning of your weaving off the loom and using the beginning to finish the cowl. Giving a lovely V to the front.

By anchoring the two ends of the scarf together you do not get those blow away ends during a wintery gust of wind or while walking through a vineyard on a summers evening.

I love a scarf, winter, summer, fall and spring, it just doesn’t matter. A scarf is a lovely accent to any form of dress. From ladies summer frocks to a gentlemen’s suits, they always look amazing. With living in the Okanagan we are blessed with all four seasons and opportunities to wear accessories like scarfs.

A V-Cowl can be woven out of any fibre and they make beautiful gifts.

You can use cotton, wool, bamboo, acrylic and self striping sock yarn makes the best finish to your cowl.
