Workshop Details

In this two day workshop you will create a stitch sampler using different types of embroidery stitches. You will be provided with examples of different sampler designs that you can follow, or you can create your own design. You will learn about different outline stitches, in-filing stitches, and decorative stitches. Stitches that will be taught are: backstitch, running stitch, chain stitch, blanket stitch, and the French knot. Other stitches will be taught as they come up or at your request. This class is for anyone who would like to know more about embroidery or who wants to get started with slow stitching. All of the stitches you learn in the class can be transferred to slow stitching projects and mending techniques. Stitch samplers are a great way to practice and explore different stitches and colour combination. Please bring a 6” or a 4” hoop to work in. You will also need pair of small sharp scissors for cutting thread. Feel free to bring any other supplies that you have and would like to use. The Instructor will provide fabric, thread, needles, and marking pens. Instructor bio: Nikki Bose was taught to knit by her grandmother while she was in university. since then she has been exploring different elements of Fibre arts. Knitting lead to dying and spinning, which in turn lead to felting, sewing, and embroidery. Nikki loves creating and exploring all the different things you can do with fibre.
