Purse and Bag Charms

Workshop Details

In this workshop you will create a Purse charm with a wide variety of materials. You will be shown how to create all the different elements of the charm. The charms draws inspiration from nature, global cultures, and a laid-back, artistic aesthetic. One bead will be a classic boho bead, another will use leather, another a variety of beads and baubles and another will use yarns and strings. Will will attach them to a ring and add a clasp so it’s easy to hang on a zipper of a purse or bag. With all of the different elements the design possibilities are endless All Materials are included. If you have your own beading pliers, please bring them. The workshop will be taught by Judith who is a visual and fibre artist with a BFA from UBCO. She has been exploring colour and texture for many years and uses many disciplines in her work. Her journey has taken her from plant dyes to commercial dyes on all the fibres and fabrics she can find. She spent many years felting and nuno-felting, slow stitching and collaging and her love of abstract imagery comes from her many years of painting.
