Workshop Details

Join Amy and Judith two multidisciplinary artist with differing yet distinct styles as they lead you through the process of creating a landscape with wool. This is a two part workshop that you can sign up for individually. In the first workshop we will discuss inspiration and how we can decide on what we want to express. We will have images available to look at or bring your own image for inspiration. Each composition will include a sky, horizon line, and a foreground. Our demonstrations will walk you through each layer of working with the wool as well as hands-on instructions for handling the wool. This process includes soap, water, and friction (wet felting) to bind the layers making a flat wool base. This workshop is beginner-friendly and allows you to create a unique, tangible piece of art to take home. In part two, Jan 14, you will explore dry felting and hand stitching to add more details and texture to the piece. All the materials will be provided which include wool, prefelts, silks, mohair locks and yarns. Date: Jan 10 Time 10-2pm Location: Studio 204 at the RCA Guild Members use Coupon Code FIBREART2021 at checkout for $10 off this workshop.
