Workshop Details

In this workshop, students will learn how to transform wool into a ball shape using needle felting—a process of repeatedly poking a mass of wool with a barbed needle to tangle and interlock the fibers into a firm, 3D shape. The finished balls will be approximately the size of a mandarin orange. Each participant should be able to make two or three ornaments during the workshop. Each participant will personalize their ornament into a unique work of art by using either felting needles or hand stitching with yarn to draw an illustrative design on the surface. This workshop offers plenty of room for creative freedom; I will guide you on how to work with the materials and introduce these techniques to activate your imagination.
