Workshop Details
Donna Brayshaw was first taught to make pine needle baskets by a local elder. It is her honour to teach others. In this Class we will be using Ponderosa Pine needles, we are so lucky to have a plentiful supply of growing in the Okanagan. Donna will show you how to prep the needles, then bundle and weave them using a artificial sinew or raffia stitch. We’ll start by using a ceramic centre. This is an easier way for beginners to quickly see their work progress. There are many decorative stitches possible, but we will focus on one for now. Donna will have a book for you to look at to stir your imagination. Instructor will supply: Pine needles Artificial sinew centers darning needles Scissors tray (keep it neat) gauge to keep your bundles even. You will bring: Just your imagination Date: March Time:10:00 - 2PM Guild Members use Coupon Code FIBREART2021 at checkout for $10 off this workshop.
