Workshop Details

In this workshop, you will learn how to dye wool with natural dye materials. Participants will learn to mordant the fibre, which is the preparation of the fibre to accept the dye and use 5 different dye plants to create colour. You will have the opportunity to dye 1 skein of wool in each dye bath. This workshop is designed to show you the basics of natural dying and start building your dye reference library. Natural dyes are so mesmerizing because there are so many variables that influence the final colour. Dye stuffs you will experiment with: TBD Each participants will be provided with 5 mini skeins of wool. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty Date: November 30 Time: 10 - 4pm This workshop is being subsidized by the City of Kelowna Operating Grant.
