Colour and Wave with a Rigid Heddle

Workshop Details

As you journey through weaving you need to learn about Colour and Weave. This technique is achieved when you place colour in the warp and the weft at certain points. This creates images in the plain weave piece. Placing threads strategically can create complex designs without needing a more complex loom structure. Participants should have already taken the learn to weave course as they will be building on previously learned practices like warping the loom. On this workshop you can choose between two colour and weave options to dress your loom and weave a scarf in one of these traditional patterns - Log Cabin or Houndstooth. The instructor will email you with more information about the material you will need to bring to the workshop. She joined the Ponderosa Weaving and Spinners in July 2021 to focus on learning to weave and expanding her knowledge of natural fibers.
