During this 2 evening class you'll be weaving a scarf using wool yarn and a rigid heddle loom. These small, portable looms are the perfect introduction to weaving. Class 1 will be a brief intro to weaving terminology, warping your loom and starting to weave. In Class 2 you will finish your project, and we'll discuss finishing, fringes and fulling. Included in the class fee is the use of one of our Ashford looms for your project which you can take home with you between class dates. Materials are not included. You will receive an email from your instructor with information about the materials you will need to bring to the class. Instructor Kirsti Jarrett: I was introduced to weaving by my Mom 35 years ago and I have enjoyed creating things for family and friends ever since.  I like to weave gifts - blankets, scarves, tea towels, shawls, baby blankets and table runners.  It's always a delight to play with colour and texture combinations!  I enjoy teaching the Beginner Rigid Heddle Weaving class - it's fun to see students create their first piece of weaving.  Date: April 7 and 14 Time 5:30-8:00pm Location Guild room a the RCA Guild Members use Coupon Code FIBREART2021 at checkout for $10 off this workshop.
